This kills me, believe me it hurts so bad, but I need to part with my mtd 535. It has an ash body, ash neck, with a macassar ebony body cap, and matching headstock. I need to sell this bass. It is the right thing to do for this situation. Even typing this I am trying to go through other options to get out of this. Sigh... Here are some pics.

/agree simply gorgeous - I actually have the pics from Bassexchange saved on this computer b/c I was speccing out a similar one about 3 months ago. Here's hoping those other options work out and you get to keep this. I've always regretted selling my 535.

That's some beautiful ash (and the mac isn't bad either!). Sorry you're in a situation that requires you to put this beauty up for sale. Good luck with everything.

Thanks guys. And just for information, this is in excellent condition.

moorebass: I hope so too man. I genuinely hope so.

Here's the story, so no one can say I'm bsing about not wanting to sell it.

My sister, Suzanne, died on January 24th 2009. This bass reminded me of her. The grain of the wood was like her hair, and I dunno. It just reminded me of her. I know it's strange to think of a bass like a human, and it is something I can't explain totally. Anyways, my family came into a hard situation, and I actually need the money, and I have chosen to sell this knowing that my sister would rather see me help provide for my family, rather than keep something just because it reminded me of her. It's a hard choice, but my sister will always live in my heart, and I know someone can benefit from this bass.

Anyways, like I said, excellent condition, and sounds like a motherf***er on steroids. This is just a great wood combo. Warm and punchy. :) I hope something else works out too, but I just don't see how it will.

God bless you all and your families this Holiday season.

how does he get the contrast in the body wood?

is that just a fine slab of ash or some kind of finishing technique?
