Hi, I have been buying some new basses with my recent return to playing after an 8 year hiatus, and I have learned some things about myself:
I didn't age well during those 8 years.
It seems my body is struggling with these great but normal weight basses. As such, I am after some real super lightweights. I am currently trying to work a deal for a 6.5 pounder that may help my issues.
That said, I have 3 basses hitting the market. Probably. I bought them all here in the last 3-4 months. They all offer something great, and I hate that I can't handle them.
Since I know weight is an issue for some, here are the weights as I remember them:
Brubaker: 9 lbs 3 oz
Modulus: 8 lbs 11 oz
Pedulla: 8 lbs 13 oz
I will confirm the weights when I get the detailed pics up later in the week.
So, I am looking at getting back what I have into them. I would like to sell 2 of 3 of them if my other deal goes through. I reserve the right to not sell if the other deal falls through, or I come to my senses about any of them. I really do like them, I just can't seem to handle the weight.
Brubaker KXB-4 Custom. $1750. Hold pending payment. Originally ordered and built for Brad Johnson. This is the most comfortable bass I have ever played. The neck is just a thing of beauty. It is the most tonally amazing instrument I have ever played as well. The range of tones is stunning with the onboard preamp. It sounds even better than it looks.
Includes original hard shell case pictured in original thread. Was setup today (3/25/10), with a fret leveling by Mike Pedulla. This cost me $125, and will not be added to the price. If the bass sells, it is a bonus for the new buyer, if it does not sell, it is even nicer for me to play.

2009 Modulus Genesis VJ Orange Crush. $1600. Traded . This thing is gorgeous. The fretboard figuring is so beautiful it rivals the 5a flamed maple top. Woden neck and freatboard with graphite U channel reinforcement. Incredibly stable neck. Second owner. In the same shape as I purchased it. original thread here:

It was like new when I got it, and it is like new today. Never gigged. Just used for practice at home (I rehearse with my band using Jamlink over the internet). Still includes original hard shell case seen in the old thread. Will be in the pics I take this weekend.
Payment terms and shipping are negotiable. Prices listed don't include shipping, but all payment (cash, money order, paypal) are acceptable. Discounts given for local/cash deals.
Trade interest: I am only interested in super lightweight basses (<7 pounds) of similar quality. Open to discussing many bases that fall in that description, but interested in exclusively fretted 4 strings. Different scale lengths are acceptable.
