I recently acquired this bass as a package deal on some other items. It is a very nice instrument with huge bang for the buck. I just don't need it in my stable at the moment and it needs to go to a good home.
Conklin Groove Tools GT-4. Specs from a previous ad for an identical bass:
Neck: 5 pc Wenge and purpleheart
Body: Swamp ash w/ 1/4" flame maple top
Weight: 9lbs on my scale
Frets: 24 Medium jumbo
Scale Length: 34"
Nut Width: 1-3/4"
Finish: Gloss Natural w/ Satin Neck
Hardware: Black
Bridge: Conklin die-cast
Tuners: Deluxe sealed die-cast
Pickups: Bartolini MK-1
Controls: Volume, blend, bass, mid, treble, "Slap" switch
Looks great, feels great, plays great, even with the dead strings. Phenomenal condition for it's age. I cannot spot any major dings or scratches other than typical slight surface scratches in the right light. The neck is very fast and smooth.
This one has the rarer Bartolini electronics package. I replaced the battery and cleaned up the pots and input jack when I received it. Full transparency: all the electronics work perfectly well, but there is a slight hum with the switch up at full volume. It's not loud and goes away when the volume is rolled down a hair from full. It may just be my amp, but it's there on my test rig and I will continue to trouble shoot to see if I can eliminate. Just wanted to be up front, ymmv.
Price is $450.00 plus shipping in the lower 48 via Paypal. Will ship in a generic gig bag. Not interested in trades atm. Feel free to ask any questions, and thanks for looking.
