Are you in Austin, perchance? I have the old Fishman that clips on the front of the bridge & have wondered how these may differentiate themselves, given placement under the bass side bridge foot, if you have any reference?

I live close to Fort Worth. I've never tried the Fishman, so I can't compare. To my ear, the Realist gets a really nice sound. I took these off - they're several years old, not sure the exact age - to try the Realist woodtone. There is some difference in the sound between them. The woodtone seems to get a less focused sound - 'bassier'. I like the realist. I used Revolution Solo in the bridge wing before the realist. I liked that sound, too. Sounded like my bass amplified, but I had a terrible habit of knocking it around and out of place. It took some time to find the sweet spot again. - I need to put the Revolution solo in the classifieds, too. I forgot about them. You have to fit them to the bridge wing which requires removing some wood to make the gap wider.

Thats my issue... the Fishman doesnt “sound like my bass”. How much for the Rev, & is it not flex or compressible in some way to universal-fit in most bridge wings? Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like the wood Realist is also more what i’m after, to take the “nasal” edge off

Nope. The rev is not flexible. it has to be fit properly. I've had a couple of them and find that sanding the pickup thinner and the bridge wing opened up less is the best combination. The instructions say that 4mm is as thin as the pickup can be and still be reliable. That's basically why I moved away from the revolution to under the foot pickup. Once the bridge wing is opened up, you can't go back thinner. This is a good opportunity to try the realist. They're a little over $200 new. It's only $100. How much did you spend on strings to find "THE ONE"?
