Dingwall ABZ5 - 8.0 lbs | Reverb

I acquired this 2010s-era ABZ from another TB’er. I’m very glad I got to try it, it is a fantastic instrument, plays well and I personally love the tone of the bridge + neck pickups in parallel. I simply decided this style of bass isn’t for me in the end. I have what I need now so not looking for trades.

I’m including 2 unopened sets of Dingwall strings. Price is $2100 and buyer pays shipping.

Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

What a fantastic bass at such a sweet price! GLWTS! I have no doubt whoever buys this will love it. A real Canadian Dingwall for the price of a Combustion.

The ABZ is now on hold, pending local sale to a fellow TB’er.

Pickup is tentatively next weekend, after which I’ll mark this officially Sold.

If anything changes, I’ll update the thread.

Thanks for everyone’s interest!

are those hum buckers?
Afaik they’re split-coil pickups, like that of a p-bass, and are indeed humbucking. These are just housed in a square plastic shell.

For reference, this classified listing shows the inside of Dingwall FDV pickups from the same generation: SOLD - Dingwall FDV Square Shell Pickups

I think the FD3 and FDV differ in magnet-type but are otherwise assembled the same.

Hope this helps. Fwiw, I’m sure there are much more complete answers and explanations over in the Dingwall Owner’s Club!
