This has been my main bass for many years. It's about the most awesome sounding bass I've ever come across. It's aggressive and sweet sounding at the same time. It's like they took a Warwick and a P bass and smashed them together (hence the crooked frets). The wide spaced (18mm) bridge is just a bit much for me on a 6 string. Most people seem to swear by the larger bridge spacing though.

I think everyone understands how trading works at this point. You pay the difference in value. However, I really do want the Ibanez SRFF806 (I'm obsessed with Ibanez Prestiges and Premiums) so I'd give $1000 trade value for it. Pretty nice considering any coupon code anywhere gets you one for less. This stands until they're widely available.

Sweet bass. I had a fiver with the same wood combination. Killer tone. Just like you said, edgy but sweet at the same time. Does this one have FD1 or FD2 pups?

Actually, it's the other way around brother. The FD1s came first and became rare after the FD2s replaced them.

But no big deal! Beautiful bass. Wish I could buy it. I've always wanted a six string Dingwall and this is a killer wood combination!

I put a set of Labella Nickel Roundwounds I already had on it. Not sure I'm digging them; they're a little dark sounding for being new. They sound good now but...I hope they don't get darker. Anyway, here's the first thing I played on them. It's me just learning stuff for Easter Sunday. The High C was weird sounding (broken core I think) so I ordered another one. I'll do a more full range sample when I get it.

Then the FD-2 pickups were replaced by the FD-3. The FD-2s were only out for a relatively short period. I've heard good things about them. I wish I could line them all up and try them.

Ahh. I see what you're saying. I knew the FD1s were fleeting and scarce. I didn't realize the 2s were even scarcer. But come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a Dingwall with 2s. I really like the 1s myself.

Ha! I didn't see your response. I KNOW these are sweet basses. I already have 4 of them!:laugh:

But there has to be SOME limit to my DAS depravity!!:roflmao:

I would have to give up a bass to do it and the only bass have that I would even consider trading for it is my Mike Lull jazz and the seller is not interested in 4 strings.

Sounds awesome! Love the mahogany with the bubinga and wenge. Also love the FD1s. Also love the string spacing.
What's NOT to love?????:thumbsup:
