I'm reluctantly letting my Dingwall Custom (Made in Canada) DBird. This is the original thunderbird inspired body shape that later switched to the D-Roc after Gibson asked Dingwall to change the shape.
Mahogany body, maple neck with Wenge fingerboard, matching headstock (wedge with white trim sections), 3 pickups with volume/selector/passive tone. See below for mods:
Pickups: I changed the pickups from the Dingwall FDV to the SF II's, as I prefer the added low end punch they provide. I have the original FDV pickup set if you were interested in both (message me and we could work something out).
Rotary Pickup Selector: I changed the selector from the stock DBird one to the 3x selector. It chooses neck/neck+bridge in parallel/middle+bridge in series/bridge only. I have the original selector as well, and will include it in the case w the sale.
This comes in the OHSC that is in excellent condition. When gigging or rehearsing with the bass, I found it fits nicely in the Mono Blade gigbag. If you were interested in the gig bag too, just message me.
The electronics were done professionally by Strange Guitarworks in New Orleans, including the setup. The bass plays flawlessly.
DAMAGE: As you will see in the pictures, there is one spot of cosmetic damage. I was careless plugging in my strap lock one day at rehearsal, and the bottom of the bass hit the floor. It is primarily paint, along with some denting to the wood. I took a few pictures that are included below. I took it to Strange Guitarworks. As matching the metallic pearl white paint would be quite difficult, and the damage is on the back and not visible from the front, they just added some super glue to stop any additional paint chipping.
For Sale: $3500 (a Guitar Center has one for $4000 currently).
Shipping: As shipping has been so expensive lately, $100 in the continental US. I'll pick up the additional cost. I'll ship it Fed Ex fully insured and well packaged.
Trades: I'm mostly just looking to sell this as I've purchased a fair amount of gear in the last year, and I just moved into a new house. I would be interested in a few things like a Dingwall Super P or SP-1, FCS Custom Shop P, Mike Lull, Sadowsky, and the off chance someone has a Spector Doug Wimbish model.
*The bass is currently set up in C Standard with Kalium Stainless Steel strings (.118 on the C).
