This is an 80’s era (Made in Japan) DR Heartfield bass I inherited from my late uncle. I enjoy 5 strings, and this one has a great tone, but I’m not a fan of glossy necks so it doesn’t get off the wall for me.

It’s a beautiful black and red finish, bolt on neck, rosewood (likely) board with dot inlays. I swapped the strap buttons for Dunlop lockers, but i have the originals. It’s around 9lb or so. I’m not sure what the string spacing is. Hard shell case is included.

Ask any questions you might have, if they’re worthwhile I’ll add them to the main post.

Nice Heartfield! These were great basses - I still have and enjoy the DR4 I bought new, way back then. It beat out the bunch of basses I tried at the old Brian Guitars in New Haven. GLWTS, lots of bass for the money!

The spacing is 19mm.

One unique feature of these basses is the built in XLR output jack. Using an XLR cord, the electronics can operate by phantom power.

The neck is graphite reinforced. A very advanced bass for its time.
