Ernie Ball Music Man Short Scale Stingray. This is from the 2020 batch, the Vintage Burst finish. Roasted maple neck with maple fingerboard. 30 inch scale, currently strung with short scale Thomastik Jazz Rounds. I am the 2nd owner, the 1st lined the pick guard and pickup cavity with copper to prevent interference. This neck features the contoured 5 bolt neck of the Stingray Special. This bass is passive, as are all of the basses from this short scale release.
The 3 knobs are:
1. Volume. Also has a passive bass boost activated by pushing the knob
2. 3 way rotary selects between Series, Single Coil, Parallel
3. Passive tone
The bass boost helps get the single coil and parallel pickup selections to get close to the same output as series to help keep the same volume between modes.
7.9 lbs according to my bathroom scale, but it feels much lighter. This bass is remarkably playable and has a huge, cutting sound. The comments that I get on this bass usually focus on how easy it is to hear in a mix while maintaining an old-school tone. Will ship in hardshell case.
I would call this bass "mint" condition if not for the copper lining. That is the only modification with no visible dings or scratches that I can find.
