You can find Fano endorsements at the link below. The best reference there is likely Hagar Ben Ari, who holds down the bass chair for The Late Show. That might speak to the versatility of the bass's tonal range. I'm reluctant to reference players when selling a bass. I've owned two Fodera Yin Yangs and never once sounded like Victor Wooten. It would be nearly impossible to speak to how a bass sits in the mix without knowing how the mix was assembled. As a music engineer, I would need to know if the bass was DI or mic'd cab. Pre or post out of the DI or amp? Was there any signal processing? How was it eq'd at the board? What happened post-production? Was it bumped in mastering? And lastly, what is my playback source that I'm critiquing? I know that doesn't provide an answer to your question, but there are many variables to consider.
