Details

Up for sale is my 2005 Spector ReBop DLX. I bought it from a wonderful TBer last year and I so badly wanted it to be my forever bass because it's a lightweight tone monster with a thunderous low B. Sadly, this fantastic bass is not a good ergonomic fit for me.

The bass was no garage baby; it's been gigged and played out (you can see some fingernail wear near the neck pickup) but it's been well cared for.

I'm not at all comfortable shipping a bass, so I'd like to do a local transaction (I'm willing to wait until the Covid-19 thing eases up. That's why this is a feeler thread.)

I live in southern New Jersey (I'm about 30 minutes from Philadelphia) and am willing to drive up to 1 hour to make things happen. I'd like to keep this sale in NJ. (Were it not for Covid-19, I'd have gladly driven out to parts of DE and PA, but I am not crossing state lines right now.)

NO TRADES, please.

And here is why I'm not looking to trade: I recently came into possession of a lovely modded Carvin SB5000 that suits me beautifully ergonomically and also have my modded LTD 4-string, so my bass needs are met; (Although, truth be told, I do like the ReBop's tone better than the SB5000's). My amp needs are met as well.

Anyway, here are the specs of this ReBop bass (which is all stock except for Dunlop Straplock strap buttons).
-made in Czech Republic
-contoured alder body
-3-piece maple neck
-rosewood fingerboard
-"Spector crown" inlays
-EMG-HZ soapbar pickups
-TonePump preamp w/ Vol, Vol, and boost-only Bass and Treble.
-35" scale
-1.81" nut
-0.66" string spacing at the bridge
-weighs about 8.7 pounds

-original hardshell case included

In the spirit of disclosure, I should mention that this bass (being a 2005 ReBop) has the following period-specific quirks:
-The TonePump preamp is the pre-2008 version, meaning it does NOT have the internal trimpot. Its output is super duper hot (which is good for heavy music.)
-The bridge is the older-design Spector bridge without the intonation screws, and where stringing a non-tapered B above .125 needs some finagling.

Again, no trades and a local/in-person sale.

Please and thank you for looking.
