800 Shipped Lower 48 CONUS! Canada or farther, message me for shipping details.
Greetings all. For sale is a MIJ Fender 51p. This was made in 2004, but looks spotless and clean. I have upgraded the pickup to a Norsdstrand single coil and the bridge to a Hipshot model A. No holes were drilled, and I will ship the bass with the original bridge, original pickup, a free capo to help with neck adjustments, and a Fender hard case. Neck is straight and true. Action is low and can go lower.
The only flaw is a tiny chip on the neck pocket I will picture later. This bass has a truss rod that is super smooth but it adjusts at the neck end so you have to take the neck off to adjust it. True to history there is no cutaway on the back or front. It is truly a slab body.
Bass sounds incredible live. I've played it a few times with various groups and I just works. Also sounds great with distortion or effects.
In trades, I am looking for ...
G&L 2500 (not tribute)
Music Man ( Big Al single coils )
Godin Shifter 5
Reverend Rumblefish 5
Aria SB1000
Also (heresy I know)
Looking for a nice hollowbody guitar, or another interesting guitar. I'm always a bass player and a bass player first, but I have been recording and I want a nice guitar as well.
Plus or minus cash is an option. I've got an open mind, if you have an interesting trade let me know. Might even want a new amp, not class D.
It is tough out there to find these now. Fender isn't making one outside of the Custom Shop. Squier has one but it's not a Japanese Fender (which now does not exist). To clarify, this is NOT a Sting Signature bass.
Thanks for looking and feel free to message me with questions or offers!
