2012 Fender AVRI ‘63 P in Seminole Red


Since buying the bass I’ve had the nut replaced and some loose frets repaired. Also picked up a factory original case.

Recently strung with LaBella Nickel rounds, but I have a set of flats that I could throw on as well. Ships with OEM strap locks.

Pics show the bass with Schaller strap locks, but I’ll ship the bass with the original strap locks.

Looks like Candy Apple Red to me. What year is the bass? Late 80s?

Correction, it’s Seminole Red. I’m not positive on the year of production, but I can check the serial number tonight and update the listing

63 RI started late 2012. I had a Sonic Blue one in 2014 that was a ‘13 year model.

Thanks for the discussion points gents!

I would hazard a guess that production on the AVRI ‘63 likely started in Q3-Q4 2012 so Fender could get them in shops directly after Winter NAAM 2013. The bass certainly isn’t an AVRI ‘62 as I happen to have one of those as well and it’s a different beasty altogether.

Ha! No worries. I remember being irritated at Fender for discontinuing the AVRI ‘62s. Seems like just yesterday.

Now, somebody please buy this. I’m starting to have seller’s remorse and the bass hasn’t left the house yet. :(
