"Like new" Fender Flea Jazz Bass for sale.
I bought this in November '19 from Sweetwater and didn't have a chance to gig with it. Perfect shape and feel in terms of the Roadworn look. Based on Flea's '61 Fender, this has the 7.25 fingerboard radius, slim U-shaped neck, concentric volume/tone knobs, vintage fret wire and Fender's Pure Vintage '64 pickups.
The bass feels as vintage as a new bass can. Light body, looks faded white until you catch the light a certain way. The playing area of the back of the neck was treated to a really nice matte oiled finish (True Oil) which is super smooth like a new Music Man or US Lakland, with a vintage look that will continue wearing in like the rest of the bass. Pretty tight neck pocket. Dark rosewood. This neck feels great. Very slim. Adjusted the truss rod quarter turn when the seasons changed, then back again.
It's set up with a set of Rotosound RS66LC medium gauge for a vintage rock sound. Would sound good with flats as it's not a dark bass at all. Had GHS SuperSteel 40-102 before. But I didn't really play this bass much as I'm more of a P-bass guy.
This bass is super light, at 7.99 lbs, with the Gotoh Resolite tuners I have on it. Included are the Road Worn tuners (not the Gotoh's) which would add about 1/2 lb to the overall weight. Also included is the Fender gig bag and original tags.
