Super nice bass! Shoreline Gold, Thomastic Flats, rosewood board. Think it's a '96. Average weight. You prob know all about it. Good honest US made Fender.

These are simply the best fives that Fender ever made, before or since. Totally passive, with serious work by Bill Lawrence to make those bassbuckers sound really, really close to traditional single coil Jazz pickups (and of course, switchable in this axe to single coil operation). Why Fender discontinued these is a great mistake.

Had a chance to play one years back in a local shop. The best playing and sounding fender I had ever played. Wish I had the spare change. These will become hard to get at some point I am sure.

The bass I have owned the longest is my CAR Roscoe Beck V. Amazingly versatile passive electronics. Does the Jazz bass thing without the single coil hummmmmmmmm. Absolutely Custom Shop workmanship on these basses. Some don't care for the complicated bridge but it is a set and forget kind of thing and really not too bad...just different. Some don't care for the generous proportions of the neck while I find it very comfortable. If you are on the fence about this bass....take the plunge. You will thank me later.

By the way, I do not know the seller. I just know the bass.

Thanks Chuck! I agree whole heartedly. I know I'll miss it, but I have to recoup Wal Mk3 funds.

If you have to start an offer with the words "I hope I don't offend...", just don't. I know my RBV isn't the least expensive bass on TB. What it is is a non-molested, all original, paperwork-having, original case-having (which is in super shape btw, tweed), Thomastic string wearing, 94% condition beast. Someone said the build quality was as good as a Custom Shop. It is. I had a new Classic Custom V. This and my Marcus Miller V both smoked that bass fit-wise. This bass is looking for its lifelong owner.
I have made some counter offers that I'm still waiting on. I may hear back, I may not. It's ok. I thank God that I'm not in a position to have to take a big loss. If it doesn't sell I've got an RBV to show for it:)
