So I have my old 4x10 just taking up space, and I would love to give it to a bass player that is just starting out. It's heavy but it works great and doesnt sound too bad. It's the one with aluminum speakers and a tweeter in the middle.

You have to come get it in Tacoma, WA and haul it away. I'll help you load it up, of course.

So if you are in need of a cab, and are new to bass, tell me why you deserve it!

That is a really nice gesture to help out a deserving person.
After reading the comments about your old avatar I cant help but think "It puts the lotion on"

I agree, nice gesture. Reminds of a thread I saw on the gearslutz forum (recently consulted that before picking up some microphones): basically a zillion pages of people giving away stuff they no longer needed to those deserving and/or in need. Quite the love fest, but noble in intent -- actually made a lot of people on both ends pretty happy.

Someone in your area must have more drive than cash (or cab). Good luck with the match-making.

Have you tried posting it on craigs list for $50 with the same intent to go to a needy soul and not flip for money and then give it to who ever shows up if they fit the criteria.

I lost my job and had to sell my GK rig for rent. So I'm gigging again and I've been borrowing a rig for 8 months (Thanks Jauqo & Dex). I'll pay for shipping to Chicago. But my limit is $150. Let me know if we can work it out.

I'm almost positive this would be more than $150 to ship, and it would take alot of work on my part. I'm looking for someone local and that is new to playing bass. Thank you for the interest though.

I've been meaning to do this with a couple of Frankenstein'd basses I have in the basement. I move them from one side of the office to the other every couple of months and mark up the walls, but otherwise I never touch 'em. I'm sure some 14 year old kid starting on bass could really use one, just not sure how to get in touch with a 14 y.o. kid without getting arrested as a cyber-predator.
