For sale FS-2013 Fender Select Precision

I like the select P a touch better then the jazz....they set up so low and are so easy to play! Thats my one bass I would grab in a fire! good thing my select jazz is next to it though so I can save that too.

Me too Dred- the reality is that ALL of the Select basses are fabulous.
If I didn't already have three other P basses and another J bass I would be keeping this one.

But since I am having a custom fretless built for me something has to give and it is this bass...

This one is a great player and a beautiful work of craftsmanship

just back from a set up by master luthier John Carruthers. Put a brand new set of D'Addario XL Half Rounds on the bass - it plays like a sweet dream and sounds like a Fender Precision bass should!

I would stack this bass up against any that Fender has ever made - it sounds and plays as beautifully as any vintage Fender - if you don't have the money for a pre-CBS and you don't want to spend the time culling through the late '60s and '70s versions (...and still spend more $$$$ than this at 1550...) for a good one then you can't go wrong with this bass

Thanks for the offers but just to be very clear -- I am in no hurry to sale the bass. I know that the price as listed is fair and reasonable for the quality of this instrument.

If you want a very fine example of a Fender Precision Bass, a bass that you could bring to any gig or session and deliver the tone, you have found it here

Is the nut width 1 3/4"? It looks a little slimmer.

The width at the nut is 1.625" (41.3mm) according to the Fender spec on their website

I got a last minute call today for a session where the producer asked me to bring (in addition to my active John Carruthers bass) a P bass.

I decided to take the Select with me since I thought most of the session would be done using my active bass.

After a couple of takes the producer wanted to do one with a P bass and we did. All I can say is that after today I will not be selling this bass anytime soon 'cause it freakin' ROCKS!!! It really does have the Fender vibe going on, Tone to the Maximus.

So...it's not for sale any longer!

There is another one on here for sale and my suggestion is (if you have been interested in a Fender Select) you grab that one -- ' cause it is a steal
