PRICE DROP
Beautiful to look at, sounds amazing and plays like a dream. The primary body wood is Imbuia. 34" scale, 2 1/8" at nut, weighs in at just under 11 lbs, though it feels lighter. Date on the inside of the control cavity plate is 4/20/98. The electronics here pre-date the current version, so no 18v preamp, toggle or internal dip switches. Control scheme: vol (pull passive)/blend + treb/mid/bass cut and boost.
The bass has clearly not had much use during its lifetime, as it looks pretty much brand new. I've treated it very carefully in the few years that I've owned it. I've oiled the body once a year or so with Smith Classic wax polish. There are a couple of tiny dings on the treble side body edge, but you practically need a magnifying glass to see them. There is just the slightest bit of visible fret wear. It looks as if the original owner may have swapped out the pickups at some point, as there are splices in the pickup wires. The originals look to be professionally reinstalled, with shrink tubing at the connection points (see photo).
The bass comes with its original KS case and some case candy items (polish cloth, Smith Classic wax polish. Smith padded strap w/straplocks). I'd be interested in trading for an Alleva Coppolo LG-5 (I'd add cash) or a Fender CS Relic '59 P-Bass + some cash, but that's about it.
