Details

Selling my G&L L-2000. It is the USA version, not a Tribute.

It's from the year 2000 and in excellent condition. In 2012, G&L issued me a factory replacement neck (#6) to replace the original neck which had a defective truss rod. The bass has only seen a few recording sessions since that time, so the neck and frets are essentially new.

Weighs just a touch over 9 pounds on my postal meter, and includes Dunlop Strap lock buttons.

Currently strung with 45-100 D'Addario Chrome flats.

Comes with the original factory blow mold hard case.

$825 shipped Conus.

Cheers...

-Michael

Is it total trash? I have a spare G&L L2000 Tribute neck (with other issues) with a good truss rod. Thought maybe I could fit that into yours and use the result as a fretted neck for my fretless L2000.

Well, here are the facts and I'll let you decide..

The neck developed a severe case of ski ramp, and the truss rod only seems to affect the neck curve below the 12th fret. I could not come up with a truss rod setting and bridge saddle height setting that let me play over the entire length of the neck.

I took it to my local shop where they removed all frets above the 12th, shaved the finger board down, and reinstalled the frets. Even with this work, I either have to set the action too high for my tastes or live with notes fretting out above the 12th fret.

I ended up paying for a new neck from G&L (took 6 months to get!!). I moved the tuners and string tree to the new neck and hung the old one on the wall for decoration.

OK, back and forth on this, but the Christmas Fairy brought me some nice music gifts so the G&L is actually for sale for good.

Price lowered to $825 shipped conus.

Please note that I made a typo on the weight when I first placed the ad. It is 9 pounds, not 8.

The #6 neck does have the Jazz width at the nut, which makes it very comfortable to play.
