I'm not sure exactly on all your questions as they are built by Gamma basses. It has passive pickups, that's for sure, but I don't know exactly what kind of wood. Joe is on Facebook (Gamma basses) and it will give you the complete breakdown if the bass. Thanks.
If you are considering this bass, all I can say is that I love mine. I have a Jazz with maple/maple neck and the "top secret" super boomer passive pups. Joe does a great job and I've never heard anyone who doesn't love their GAMMA bass. There are a couple of youtube videos that are a very good representation of what these basses sound like.
