These amps are incredibly easy to set up and use. You have the choice of using the Clean channel or with the push of a button you can switch to the Drive channel. The Contour control is a brilliant design and offers a plethora of tonal options via Contour A or Contour B. The amp is wicked loud, and has a dead quiet noise floor. Quick, clean, and responsive, it is not harsh or brittle in any way. It's easy to understand why the Magellan 800 is so popular, It just sounds clean, clear, and very musical. Although I've not used it, I have it on good authority that it also has one of the best DIs in the business built into the amp.
