Up for sale is my 2005 Gretsch Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird 4 string bass. Model # G6199B. Made in Japan. Bright red top and gloss black backside. Cream binding with black pin stripe on the top. Chrome hardware. Futuristic body design made famous by Bo Diddly and ZZ Top.

Let me first off say that this bass was one the more difficult basses that I’ve ever photographed, ha! Spent well over an hour trying to capture angles, reflections, lighting, etc…some pix might show better than other pix. I took some with flash and some without flash. I’ve circled any imperfections that I could actually capture. Some might look like imperfections but are reflections from lighting or angles. Simply ask me for more pix and I’ll do my best to take another angle. Just being totally transparent here.
I’ve owned this bass since April 2009. Basically bought it for looks and maybe have played a few songs at a gig with it but never an entire set or nite. Has sat in its case majority of the time. I consider the condition to be very good plus to excellent. I’m pretty conservative regarding gear condition and you’ll rarely see me use the word mint on a used instrument. The black paint has the typical superficial swirls. There are indentions here n there on the back. Kinda like finger nail impressions. Again, I’ve tried to capture these and some pix you’ll see I’ve circled what I could capture. These impressions do not go thru the paint; no wood is exposed. No gouges. The only indention that has a lil wood showing thru is on the bottom long corner angle of the bass, probably from a short guitar stand. I see this happen on Flying V’s, Thunderbirds etc typa odd shaped instruments simply because the way they sit or hang on a stand.

The bass features smooth bright glossy paint. Locking tuners. Fingernail fretboard side markers. TV Jones pickups. Gretsch branded OHSC (TKL brand) in very good functioning condition, with key. 30.3 inch scale. One piece maple neck. 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nut width 1 5/8. 3 way toggle switch (non-original with Harley skull). Dunlop strap locks (don’t have original strap buttons). Highly chambered mahogany body with thin maple top means this bass weighs in approximately at 6.8 to 7 pounds using my Mickey Mouse bathroom scales.

I’m a player not a dealer. I’ve been fortunate to collect a lot of cool basses over the years, many that have never or seldom left the house and I’m just now finding time to sell a few.
Although you'll see no feedback associated with my profile I have sold gear on the "Verb", all with positive feedback ratings. Payment via (friends & family) Paypal. Shipping is via UPS for $75 Continental USA location only. For $50 I can hand deliver this bass (after payment clears) to Memphis, Nashville, Huntsville, or Birmingham. Not looking for any trades at all as I'm fully loaded at the moment. No returns. Please ask any questions and I will respond as quickly as possible.
