Selling my home practice kit. I thought this was pretty genius on my part. Backstory, I used to practice at home by playing some MP3's through my laptop speakers and play along with my amp as low as I could make it. At the time, I was using a tube amp, and as everyone knows bass travels. After many complaints from my family, I put this together:
Mackie Mix8 Mixer - This is a small 8-Channel Mixer including two Mic channels with XLR inputs as well as 1/4" inputs. Channels 3 and 5 can be used as stereo, or mono L with another input into the R channel. Also includes L/R inputs for Aux Return, CR out and Main Out. If you don't have a large amount of gear, you could use this mixer with an acoustic guitar, a microphone and output to powered speakers. There is also a Tape In and Out using RCA cables.
Each channel (1, 2, 3/4, 5/6) has a 3 band EQ, Balance knob and level knob, and there is a main mix volume knob as well.
Sennheiser HD280 pro - Very nice, very comfortable over the ear headphones. These are in very good shape, no shorting in the cable, and it has an adapter to allow for 3.5mm or 1/4" use. I plug this into the Phones Jack of the Mackie
For my personal practice, I used a regular 1/4" instrument cable to plug my bass into channel 3. I used a 3.5mm to RCA to the Tape IN and plugged the 3.5mm into either a smartphone, tablet or computer. Then I can mix the volume as I desire, press play on a song and play along. All the sounds comes out of my headphones, and I am able to practice while not disturbing anyone.
This is an excellent way to practice for anyone who has small kids, lives in an apartment, or has to practice late into the evening. Selling everything as a package, do not want to split up. $100 shipped, price is firm.
Thank you
