Details

James Tyler 80s vintage 5 string bass. Demeter 3 band EQ preamp with selectable EQ points, Bartolini soap bars, alder body, maple neck with pau ferro fretboard. Official color is "candy turquoise", white headstock. Comes with non OEM hard case. There is a good size dent on the bottom of it where it looks like it might have been dropped. The paint is cracked but hasn't come off. You can see in the photos. It also has some small dings and scratches from normal use. Some of the wood around the truss rod adjustment screw has chipped off.
Other than the cosmetic issues the bass plays and sounds killer. Not interested in any trades at this time. $2500.00 plus shipping.

Do you have the string tree? Thanks.
Hi, I called James Tyler to see what string tree he used on his basses and he said he never used string trees, so the one on this bass must have been added by the former owner at
some point. I guess you could try and find one that fits. Wasn't on there when I got the bass.

Not really looking for a trade but I wouldn't mind maybe a Fenderish 5 string PJ type 34" scale bass.

do you like laklands....i have a rare double J built to be the willie weeks model.....killer neck and very light and resonant....very few made.... email me if you would like to see it....thanks jayman [email protected]

I have owned a few Tylers and the string tree is a good idea especially if you slap. You can pull the g string out of the nut saddle very easily due to the long length of the string. So this bass is actually better than usual IMHO.Great bass.

I spoke to a few people and some have had these with string trees and some without. I did some slapping on it and I didn't have any problems with the G string coming out of the nut.
The official word from Tyler was he never used string trees but since this one has the holes already I'm sure you can find a tree for it.

Love the finish...looking at the headstock, there is absolutely NO DOUBT what kind of bass this is. Rock it!!
