EQD Afterneath V3 - $100: this thing rules. It can go from wacky and weird to beautiful and ambient to actually doing a pretty decent, basic room reverb. And, it’s a fancy,l limited edition sparkly purple. That also rules. But, I got a reverb/tremolo combo pedal, and at my last two band practices we’ve written a song where I’m using tremolo and I started using tremolo in a different song that I previously was not. Now I need tremolo. Strange times, I’m living in. Anyway, Velcro on bottom and it comes with box and goodies.
JohnK Bloomed - $150 (PAYMENT PENDING): I know JohnK is active on this forum. He might even see this post. If he does, first and foremost, I want him to know that this pedal is amazing. I have a buddy who has an EQD Blumes. It’s pretty easy to make that pedal sound not great. This pedal, on the other hand, is extremely difficult to make not sound great. I really, really don’t want to sell this. In fact, if my Afterneath sells before this does, I’m not selling it. If you’ve never owned a JohnK pedal, please know that the build quality of his pedals are quite literally second to none. I’ve had his Duality+ on my board for a long, long time. It’s the nastiest fuzz ever and I sometimes get overly excited and stomp on it real hard live. It’s a tank. Anyway, this is from John on how he made a really good pedal a great pedal: “This is my clone of the Earthquaker Devices Blumes bass overdrive which I think is a very nice pedal for bass but felt it could use some modifications. Since the original uses all SMD components, I had to design & etch my own PCB for thru hole ones in order to modify the circuit. First, as many on the Talkbass forum think that the level control is not very usable (it's way too sensitive at lower settings) I too felt that the level control could use a higher value pot with an audio taper instead of a linear taper for better output control, so I replaced the linear 100K pot with a 250K audio one. Second, to make the gain more adjustable, at all of the mini switch clip settings, I added and input level control. In my opinion, these modifcations make an already good bass overdrive a great one. It has all top jacks and a relayed true bypass. Yes, my clone is higher than the price of the original, but it's a completely hand made pedal with all Lumberg jacks and high quality thru hole components.”
