Koog and I started our conversation with his inquiry re my Elrick bass. After many messages back and forth the conversation shifted to a possible trade - my Elrick for his Drake custom build. We worked out a reasonable deal and completed the trade. Note I use the word "conversation" because when you deal with Koog there is a possibility of an open and honest sharing of information and ideas. It was a pleasure to work with him.

He bought my Columbia jacket. Kind and prompt in messaging and payment. Very easy to work with, definitely would again.

The Beardly is a pretty special bass and I'm really glad it wound up with you, Koog.

Koog is a wonderful man to work with and just a great guy all around. He is courteous, responsive, direct, thorough and consistently pleasant.

Our trade involved multiple high end instruments and a number of contingencies that had to fall into place, including the approval of a third party. The deal, by it's nature, required a lot more time and effort than a typical TB trade, and more work was required on Koog's part than on my end. Throughout the process he was very timely and diligent in working to move the deal forward and keeping me fully informed every inch of the way.

We communicated via PM, phone and Skype and I found all of our contact quite enjoyable. Koog is interesting, extremely well informed and has a great deal of experience with and understanding of fine luthiery. As a musician/player, my guess is than I'm not qualified to be in the same room with him, but I would certainly welcome the opportunity to to give it a shot!

When the various pieces or our deal finally fell into place, he shipped both basses immediately and they both arrived well packed and on schedule. Each instrument is spectacular and, in terms of condition, even nicer than represented during our negotiations.

I have had pleasant dealings with a number of TB members, but this was definitely my peak experience within this community. I am not a social creature by any stretch (i.e., I'm a grumpy old guy who doesn't particularly like dealing with other human beings if I can avoid it), but Koog is someone I would welcome the opportunity to spend time with. I respect and can really relate to his perspective on and approach to things in general.

Koog, this has been a great experience and I hope we can stay in touch.
