Thanks! Yes, this is one of the sweetest Jazz-style basses I have ever played. It's the last long-scale bass to leave the stable. My Tom Clement 23" scale (see avatar) is getting all the love nowadays due to it's lightweight and tone. If Ken made a short scale, I'd be all over it. The other bucketlist bass is the MTD 530-24 (or if anyone has that 30"-scale, CHAMBERED, Warwick custom thumb out there...) or Lynn Keller 30".

If I had any hopes of actually slapping in public, I would keep it.

YES!!! It definitely has that Smith punchy, midrange-y, clear-as-a-bell-top-end in just passive mode even, but the active option can dial in anything from dub reggae to Jaco (no single coil for you get-off-my-lawn types, though ;-). It's the first bass I've had where you can crank the controls to 10 or 0 in any direction (besides V, ofcourse), and you still get usable tones.

Honestly, it's just too darn big and beefy for me but it sounds and plays amazingly...make an offer.

You're a wiser human than me. Closing is super stressful--hey, what are you doing here looking at these ads? ;-)
