Here is your chance to own a legendary Kubicki Ex Factor (18v) in dark metallic gray! This instrument isn't just a bass, it's a masterpiece of design and innovation from Philip Kubicki. If you are reading this, you very likely know all about this fantastic instrument. If not, here is a quick summary:
Innovative features:
Condition
This 1989 Ex Factor is in very good condition with minor cosmetic wear. A few things of note: there is a small ding above the pickups, scratch on the neck and a scratch on the control plate. The paint is chipped on a few of the neck bolt recesses. Look at the pictures for details of these. All electronics function as new. The truss rod works flawlessly. It comes with the original hard shell case and a few Kubicki-specific bits.
History
I purchased this new in 1989 (Serial #1522) and have owned it since. I played it regularly for a year or so back in the day. Since then it has only come out for the occasional reunion gig or me noodling around for a few minutes. It has only been serviced by Phil and Mike Haney, his successor. Phil give it a refresh around 2005 (super nice guy by the way) and I had Mike replace the string clasp spring, and give it a fresh set up and new strings a few years ago. I have rarely played it and have not gigged with it since that time. I’m only selling to fund another project and hopefully, put it in someones hands that will play it more than I have.
Terms
Selling price is $3999 and includes shipping to lower 48 US states. Goods/services options from Paypal or Venmo accepted. If you’re in Arizona and want to pick it up, I’ll knock off $100 in place of shipping. No trades.
