Details

Here we have a 2017 Lakland 55-94 with beautiful Walnut Burl top that I purchased here in August 2019.

Previous sale thread with all the specs: SOLD - Lakland 55-94 Walnut burl top (price drop)

It only saw a handful of gigs before lockdown, and it's been in its case since. For those of you that have played them, you know the 55-94 is a fantastic bass all around; sound, playability, versatility. So why sell? Well, I wouldn't under normal conditions. I do have another 55-94 that I bought new from Lakland, but I don't need to have two of these fine instruments sitting around, so I'm definitely keeping the other one.

This one is in great shape. No nicks or dings that I can find. Some typical hairline scratches below the G-string from a previous owner's slapping, a hairline crack at the lower neck pocket (pictured), and a couple of cracks in the neck pickup casing (also pictured). I don't know why it's cracked, was that way when I bought it, but it has absolutely no affect on the pickup's performance. I just wanted to point that out in the interest of full disclosure.

Includes OHSC in very good condition. It has one cut in the tolex on the cover right above one of the metal feet, and a few surface scuffs. All of these were present when purchased. I never used the case, just a leather gig bag.

Price is $2500 shipped. I can offer a discount for a local (Massachusetts) cash sale, willing to drive a couple hours to meet if that works for anyone.

Please NO TRADES on this one. Only selling because I have way more than I need already.

Nice top. I love when the grain crosses itself. They always react nicely to stage lighting and they just look way cooler than a simple grain pattern. Glwts dude.

This used to be mine and I can attest to the fact that it is a killer bass at a steal of a price.

I remember seeing jimmy fallen’s bass player with the “Roots” playing an identical Lakland on an awards show, it cut through the mix perfectly. I know his normal bass is a Fodera, so his choice of a Lakland for this particular venue, tells me there is something special about a Walnut Lakland. GLWYS!
