To answer you question about the strings: When I shipped the bass, it had a brand new set of R. Cocco strings. It's a light gauge stainless set (40-60-80-100-120). IMO they are a little light for a 5 string bass, but they do play and sound good. I also included a set of Daddario XL's (45-130) that were on the bass previously, but are still in good shape. They are in the large outside pocket. I think the Daddarios are what most players are used to and they do work well for this bass.
