Killer LowEnd LEJ6. Serial number 080701. My #1 for the last 9 months. Gigged with it 3x, because the bands I’m in keep breaking up! Like a vintage Fender, if Leo made 6 strings back in the '60s. According to Brian at LowEnd it's Teal Green Metallic, a 1960's Fender color. This thing plays so incredibly easy and I rarely ever have to tune it up. Sounds amazing in passive and active modes. It has a few dings here and there, but it's honest play wear like something you'd find on an old Fender. This is what I see from close inspection (and I'm very particular about my gear):
1. No dings to the neck.
2. There is a small chip in the top of the headstock (backside) and a teeny, tiny one to the front.
3. There are a couple of finish dings to the side of the side of the body (control side).
4. There are a couple of scratches on the back of the body. A couple of very minor "dents" that don't break the finish.
5. Some places along the edges of the fretboard on both sides are slightly discolored. Basically the clear coat has worn away around some of the frets. It gives it a nice, broken in feel.
Again, a few things here and there, but nothing really crazy at all. Most of the stuff, you have to be right up on top of the bass to even see. Absolutely none of it affects the playability at all.
I've used a Levy's leather strap with this, and it rests great on the shoulder with little fatigue or neck dive. Really a fantastic instrument in every way. Beautiful grain on the rosewood fretboard that's hard to capture, but is just a hint of light colors here and there. Low B is thunderous, especially with this preamp!
Controls are Volume (pull for passive), Blend, Mid, stacked Treble/Bass. Everything is built like a tank on this thing including the heavy duty input jack. Just a beast in every way!
This bass was previously owned by Jerry Henderson, who is the current bassist of Big Sam. I've talked to Jerry about this bass, and he said it was easily the best playing and sounding LowEnd he ever had, and he's owned and played many of them.
34" scale, 10.45 pounds. The pickups and preamp are Benavente, and both are killer. I wouldn’t change them out for anything else. Seriously! 19mm string spacing Hipshot bridge, so adjustable down to about 18mm, if desired. Super low action, loud 18v Preamp (but very adjustable via internal trim pot), this thing is an absolute beast. Comes with Kaces bag. Right now, it's wearing an old set of DAddario rounds (.32-.130 set).
$2000 shipped CONUS. NOW $1700!!!! Priced to move and I reserve the right to pull it at any time. I’ve truly loved this bass since owning it.
Trades I’d consider (trade value $2000):
1. Moollon basses
2. Suhr, Nash, Lull, Lakland, Sadowsky, or Fender CS Jazz Bass
3. Fender CS P Bass
4. Darkglass M900, especially Medusa version
5. Genzler Magellan 800 and vintage style 1x12 cab
6. Bergantino B|Amp and Berg cab
