Purchased brand new from sweetwater earlier this year. Only used at home. Great condition, no scratches/dents/marks, etc. I can print or email the original receipt to buyer from SW if need be. Everything works like it should. Just looking for something different, still searching.

If the TT isn't your thing, I don't suspect you would like the 800+. If you are looking at a lightweight Carbine, then you might want to check out that WD800 option.

If you can make it to over to Quincy on Sunday I would let you give my WD800 a test drive, maybe even a short term swap to see how you like it.

Would you mind expanding on that a bit? If the D800/800+ was designed as "closer to" the carbine, why would the WD which is designed "closer to" the walkabout be a better choice? This is how it was described by the man (Andy) who created the subway amps "The D-800+ is probably the closest thing to the M6/9, with the bright switch on and the voicing control around 11:00 and a little eq to taste. The power amp portion really isn't much of a difference, though there is more broad-band distortion going on throughout the Carbine's pre and power sections." Just curious on your perspective.

I would experiment more with this TT amp if i were you before you switch.
The EQ, section is interactive with the symmetry dial and the high pass filter.
Lots of tones there to be had, just have to dial them in.

I owned the Subway D800 and D800+ and just picked up a TT800.
I do hear the similarities from the Subway TT channel and the D800+, but with the tube preamp maybe just a bit warmer to my ears.

One thing I found out on the TT 800, is to set the gain switch to low gain, as my Active Fodera bass was distorting on the high gain setting.

I haven't had a chance to try the WD 800 yet.

Well Andy is the right guy and would know better than me. My experience and this goes back years so I could be off, was the 800 and 800+ sounded colder, sterile, etc compared to the WD which I prefer and I loved the carbines and Walkabouts. I also juiced the mids, perhaps you didn't on the Carbine and I can see where these could get to that territory better on an 800+. Trust Andy, not me, but my opinion was that the WD sounded closer if you are a mids juicer.

I also agree here, experiment more before you switch to an amp that has less to offer... just my opinon. I think you can find what you are looking for in there.
