Great TBer! Bass arrived quickly in great condition. Our communication was excellent and we struck a very good deal. The bass is amazing! Would highly recommend this seller. A+
First of all, the sale originated on Talkbass. I have a thread on this site. The seller wanted to text/talk on phone but I’m not sure how that would make it “off talkbass.”
Second of all, the first offer the seller made was to refund $300 for an undisclosed body crack. Then, almost 2.5 weeks passed without receiving anything and upon contacting him he offered to buy the bass back. But as discussed earlier...I had already completed work and spent money on the bass. Not sure why selling it back at that this point. I have no reason to lie about any of this, and I’m not sure why that wouldn’t seem apparent.
I purchased a mid-90’s Sadowsky described as having “great frets” and “normal playing wear.” While the bass truly is a fantastic, well-played instrument, upon taking it to Sadowsky it became obvious that there was a major body crack wrapping around the entire control cavity that had at some point been repaired. It had obviously been dropped at some point with a major repair done. As a player, I don’t take issue with this but approached the seller to rectify as the issue had not been disclosed and would obviously affect resale value. He offered to credit back $300, which I thought was fair.
Additionally, the frets were actually in very poor condition so I had Roger do about $250 of work on the bass. Considering the age of bass I felt ok covering this cost, even though the seller had said they were “great.”
However, the seller stopped responding and never credited any money back. Eventually, he refused and instead offered to buy the bass back...but by that point I’d already sunk money and time into it on my end.
