Details

The Precision Lyte is a smaller bodied Precision bass with a Jazz style neck and has 22 frets rather than the traditional 20 fret Precision neck. It also has a lighter weight which is easier on the back and shoulders for those long gigs.

Weight: 7.7 lbs

Color is sienna burst. Believe serial number puts this at about 86’.

Very Excellent condition active P/J bass made in Japan. Ivory EMG PJAXs are installed with the BTS EQ System. Pick ups do show some wear. Controls are Volume, Blend, Bass, and Treble.

Also installed are gold Dunlop strap locks. ORIGINAL strap buttons, pickups, knobs, and electronics are included as well as a foam fender strap.

There are two scratches on the back, paint chip where I screwed up taking the pick ups out, One tiny neck ding pictured.no other major issues. Perfectly working truss rod.

Included are the original pickups and knobs as well.

Asking $525 PayPal shipped, insured, priority 2 day CON US, Canada PM please as customs will cost more and I don’t know the current laws on rosewood.

Please ask any questions, I am selling because a fellow TBer allowed me to buy my P bass back and I would like to have just one bass for now. Thanks!

Canada, Eh!
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Beauty! - and a smokin deal IMO... if it wasn't Rosewood I'd be all over it.

You would need to pre-obtain a CITES certificate (and jump through some hoops at shipping time...) to ship it risk-free to Canada. I recently went through 'the rather big headache' shipping a rosewood instrument the other way...

Thanks for the heads up! Truth be told, if it doesn’t sell in a few days I’m keeping it!

It is a lovely bass! I have one of those also. But mine is compeltely blond (i.e. natural wood). I have never seen this colour scheme anywhere else on the internet.

I love the light weight and the super easy neck!

Nice! Was that originally red?
I recently put gold knobs on and ivory EMGs. I’m going to reinstall the black EMGs, there’s just too much swag goin on! I love this bass, I think I’m keeping it

yes, it was - i have not changed anything so far, - however, I am in the process of changing the 1/4 jack, as that is a bit noise, when I ma playing and moving about. It is a quite cheap plastic houseing one which I am replacing wtih a more sturdy metal case one. That also is in bronce so will match the other hardware better.

Sounds good! I haven’t had any issues so far with mine. Did you sand the finish off yourself?

to be honest it never occured to me that the finish could not be original. I bought this bass from a guitar shop in London (Denmark street - you have to visit that street if you don't know it, famous for where all the famous bands bought and buy their stuff in the 60ies,,70ies... ) about 10-15 years ago. But I have to investigate it now. Maybe that is why I have never found that colour scheme with Lyte basses before? The red of the headstock defo looks original though. It has all the logo print and the serial number, etc.

These are GREAT basses that definitely punch above their weight class. I bought one last January that I adored, but the original owner regretted selling it so much that he offered me $150 more than I paid to sell it back to him! I did (to be a nice guy, not for the $), but I still miss that bass. Whoever gets this will be very happy with it...

I checked it out now in more detail and some previous owner has indeed sanded the candy red from the body and just left it pn the headstock. It was done well though to the point where I did not detect it at all. I xanonly seee little remnants of it where the colour spray has stained the electronics cavity a little bit and inside the output jack drill hole.

I love the bass, and have jsutgotten some Thomastik Infeld Flat Wound (JF344) for it, and I just love it some more now.

Do you still have your P-Lyte?
I have one almost identical - I need some pics of the wiring - mine isn't right....
