This is a really good bass. Actually, it's the best Squier P-bass you can get and, in my and many others opinions, it's better made than lots of Mexican Fenders, compared to what you pay of course.
Some specs:
The body is made of basswood, painted in vintage white and in really good condition. The neck is full maple, vintage tint and the craftsmanship for such a cheap bass is awesome. I think this is where they have the advantage over the Mexicans. Bridge is top load and high mass, tuners are nothing exceptional but they don't lose tuning either (IMO, this is still Squier's Achille's heel).
Mods:
- Pickup is the beast called Delano PMVC 4 FE/M2. Really solid lows, good attack and grind. Read more here, unless you already know what this is about.
- Electronics changed to better ones (CTS, Orange Drop, Switchcraft, the works)
- Pickguard is a blue mirror one from WD Music. Looks great with the rest of the bass.
- Strap pins changed to Dunlop Dual Straploks, which means you can use them with straploks or non-straploks
- I also changed the tuning. It is now DGCF, harmonics all set and action is mid to high. I can change that back to EADG or whatever you want. I used D'Addario Flats 50-105 to down-tune and it sounds great! (Don't look at me like that, the pickup asked for down-tuning!)
All in all, it is a great bass, which for once in my life I managed to keep in good condition. In order to stay that way, I'll ship it in a Road Runner Polyfoam Case, which is hard and light.

The price is $400 paypal'ed and shipped. If you are local (NYC) you can get it cheaper and even without the case.

I have one thing in my mind. A full maple American Standard Precision neck. Nothing else, sorry.
I'll take more photos later today, but it's more or less clean. I don't wear belts, so no buckle rush, I don't wear rings, so no scratches on the neck or anywhere else.
