The necks on these basses are great. And it's a Modulus, so you know the B string is good.

Dang- really wish I had the $$$. GLWTS!

Yeah, I really dig the sound of this one also. I liked it so much I traded another Genesis 5 for this one at a bass shop. But the arsenal has grown too big again and I have to sacrifice something!

Hate to be that guy, but it has an alder boy. Genesis basses never had an ash body option.
I used to own genesis 5 with spanish cedar neck and body(no top). Loved the tone deep and warm. Very responsive to attack and articulation. GLWTS

Interesting!
I thought this one was ash since the woodgrain was a little wider apart. The one I traded had a Spanish Cedar body and neck that had the same tone as you described. I preferred the more even bass sound of this one, and the more open top end.
