FOR SALE: MTD 535-24 S/N 3282 Nebula Burst (2018)
Picked this beauty up in a trade here on TB for my Fodera Monarch 4-string (https://www.talkbass.com/threads/2017-fodera-monarch-deluxe-4-string.1513146/).
Immaculate condition (9.5 out of 10)-I can't find a ding on the bass. I'm mostly an upright player now-I used this bass at maybe 5 rehearsals since owning it-and it killed every time! Don't have an MTD case on this one-will ship in a very well packed Warwick/Sadowsky Portabag.
Specs
The bass has a Tulipwood (Poplar) body, Myrtle Burl top, Chechen Rosewood fingerboard, Maple neck, and Nebula Burst finish. 35 inch scale, 19mm string spacing, just shy of 9 lbs. on my bathroom scale, double truss rods in the neck, custom wood control knobs, and proprietary Bartolini pickups and preamp, including mid frequency selector switch (250, 500, 1K). Includes the Buzz Feiten tuning system and Luminlay side dots, which glow in the dark.
Sound
This bass has a wonderfully even and punchy presentation, with a slight roll back of the highs provided by the Chechen Rosewood fretboard. Michael Tobias told me that Tulipwood provides "punch then growl" and that the Chechen fingerboard can make the bass sound a bit more like a Precision bass when dialed in-all this proved true on stage. Great bass for both finger style playing and slapping.
Asking $4875 shipped, Paypal OK. No trades at this time-looking to thin my collection and focus on upright bass. Happy to answer questions here or consider offers through DM. Thanks for looking!
