This lightweight bass was imported from Japan in August 2023. It was then completely disassembled down to the screws and washers, the parts were cleaned with an ultrasonic washer, and bagged/organized for later assembly.

The tuners were removed, neck was waxed and buffed, frets were cleaned and polished, fretboard oiled. Replaced the original tuners with NEW modern Gotoh GB707 tuners.

The bridge and original plastic pot knobs were removed, and replaced with a NEW modern Gotoh 404SJ-4 high mass bridge and NEW Gotoh chrome knobs and strap buttons.

The original Fernandes pickups were removed, and BARTOLINI 8S and 9J P+J style passive pickups were installed into the original passive harness. The harness solder joints were reflowed and shrink wrapped where appropriate. The 3 pots are neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, and tone.

From the Bartolini web site: "4-String Original PJ-Bass – 8S + 9J Big, deep vintage P-Bass tone with full, warm deep vintage J-Bass tone - The most popular hum-cancelling Precision bass upgrade pickups with the most popular dual inline-coil hum-cancelling Jazz bass upgrade pickups. List Price: $295.00."

The original plastic input plate, and original strap buttons were removed and replaced with NEW modern Gotoh hardware.

The bass was reassembled with the utmost care, and strung with Rotosound 66 45-105 strings. The bass has been adjusted since the new hardware and plays great.

Included with the FRB-40 is a bag of all of the original parts (pickups/tuners/bridge/hardware).

The 24 frets are in great condition and it is a 34” scale maple neck with a rosewood fretboard.

Comes with a gig bag.

Interested in a trade for a Sterling Stingray Short Scale bass. I think some may become available due to the new models will have roasted maple necks!

Doing the infamous digital bathroom scale method (repeated a few times), it is about 8lbs. I can get a 100% accurate weight via my neighbor's Park Tool bike scale tomorrow. It's a lot lighter than my '69 Jazz with a Warmouth body/Badass II bridge.

$375 is a steal for this bass with these upgrades IMO. GLWTS!

I appreciate your input and 100% agree with you! It plays better, and is lighter, than my '55 Precision and my '69 Jazz.
