Got it today. I've played it about half an hour so far and plan to put at least another hour on it after supper. Thank you for the excellent communication and the bass. I'm very pleased.
There is grounding buzz if either of the coils is turned all the way off. It's not there when they're both full volume or both off. I'm not concerned about it really because it's not going to be noticeable playing live. Just curious if you have any idea what is causing it? One day when I'm bored I might dig into it. Please remember to leave me feedback as well. Thanks again man!
Paul-super nice cat, great communication and fair.
That "grounding buzz" is what all single cool pickups get when they are turned up. The second coil is wound in reverse and when the volumes are equal, that him cancels itself out. That's inherent in all pickups that aren't "humbuckers," but the trade-off is that while you cancel out hum, you also cancel out other frequencies too. Many people covet the crystal clear sound of single coil pickups and just deal with the hum. You could easily find suitable humbuckers, but there is usually a tone trade-off.
Great deal!
