I have acquired two very different basses in the last 4 months. First was a new Shen Willow which came with Bel Cantos. Great strings. The G and D were alright, but the A and E were a little mushy in my opinion. Did a lot of research and chatting with my bass brethern. I went to a Permanent E and Passione G,D, and A. They feel and sound great...everything that I was looking for as far as tension/resistance, sound, and comfort. My other bass came as the result of winning the ISB Build-A-Bass. It came with Perpetuals, including a long E. They sounded very much like Spirocores, which is not the sound that I was looking for. I decided to have the same strings on it as a had put on my Shen, long Permanent E, and Passione G, D, and A strings. Couldn't be happier. I am sticking with those for both of my basses. So, as a result, I had a set of Bel Cantos which were used for about 3 months, Those have been sold. I also have a set of Perpetuals which were on the ISB bass when it arrived. The Perpetuals have a long E. They are great strings and are in excellent condition. But, I have no use for them and I'd hate to see them wasted. Please PM me if interested. Otherwise, they will sit in my closet, probably for a long time. Asking $200.00, but will listen to reasonable offers.
Please note, the Bel Canto's have bee sold.
