Description and full disclosure:

I got this bass in trade a few months back. Current strung EADGC with Fodera Matt Garrison Strings. Plays and sounds awesome. Just really want another MTD again.

From the gentleman that I traded with:

"I bought this bass in March 2014 from a well known professional studio session player. I was told by the second owner that the original owner paid $4000 for this bass and got into a fight with the builder when the bass was received. There were file marks on the neck and the fret work didn't look good. A fight ensued. So the original owner removed Ray's logo and the truss rod cover. He removed and sold the original Nordstrands and put in Ken Smith jazz pickups and a Bartolini preamp. Sold the Nordy pickups and preamp to recoup some of his funds. The nut was shaved down for low action.

So when I bought it, the neck had file marks and all the wrong electronics. It was a "players" bass. So I brought it to a professional and very expensive wood luthier to fix up the questionable work on the neck. I bought brand new Nordstrand pickups and preamp to return the bass to original condition. I had the luthier remove the file marks as best as possible. He did a great job but it is not perfect. ( See pictures) He also built up the original nut. I spent a boatload of money on this bass restoring it. Only to discover I don't like singlecut basses.

The bass is still missing the trussrod cover and logo. I know that might bother some people. You can contact Ray if you like to get one. The bass has normal wear but not very easy to see in photos. I am going to say this a players bass. It is not mint. If you are extremely picky please don't purchase the bass.

The simple reason I am selling the bass so low is I just don't have a lot of play time on it so I don't know the bass that well. I don't know every single little scratch on it. I sold a bass to an insanely picky member one time and I never want to relive that again ( He didn't like the smell of the wood....serious! No joke!) so I am down playing how nice this bass is. It is definitely worth a lot more than I am asking."

The 2,200 shipped I'm asking is a very, very good deal.

Here are are a couple of crappy pictures (Hi Res Photos Coming Soon):

This is a really good deal. There is a TON of money into this bass. I should know as I paid the bill! I'm the previous owner.

Really great seller to work with.

John, thanks for the great plug! I Really liked this bass, but I when a nice MTD 535 came up with the exact wood combo that I had wanted, I had to jump on it.

This one is GONE.
