This is easily the most incredible sounding bass I've played. The triplebucker pick-ups are incredibly versatile. I'm the second owner and only played restaurant gigs with it so it's in great shape. The first owner was a collector so I bought it in perfect condition. There are a few scuffs and scratches in the finish and the pictures I posted show them in detail. The set-up on it is perfect and the action is the lowest I've played.

I thought it was an 06 because of the serial number. But I see that it doesn't always match up that the first 2 digits are the year. I bought it at the end of '06 from someone who didn't seem to have it long, or at least didn't really play it.

What sort of strap buttons/locks are fitted?

Hey Thunderitter,

It doesn't have any strap locks. Just the buttons. I think any standard lock will fit the buttons, but I don't use them. I see you have a Roya. The classic has two buttons on the bottom, I'm not sure if the Roya does. The two buttons are nice because you can adjust the angle of the bass depending on how high you play. I play super high, which looks dorky, but I can play much faster.

Hi there - what's the weight and the neck profile? How is the back of the neck? I see that it's painted - depending on the finish, some painted necks can be slow...how is this one?

I'll have to get back to you on the weight, I've never weighed it, and I couldn't find anything online about the weight.

With regards to the neck, I can tell you it's 34" scale, and amazingly fast. The back is definitely finished, but I've never had a problem with that slowing me down. I have the action way low on it, it almost plays like a guitar, so I rarely put much pressure with my thumb on the back.

Someone asked recently about the string spacing, and I found out it's 19mm measuring the center to center from the E to the A, and gets a little more narrow as you move towards the G. Other than weight, are there any specific measurements you'd like?

If you can tell me about the front to back profile on the neck that would be helpful. Is it more J-Bass feel or P-Bass feel?

As for the weight, it certainly does not have to be a dead on weight - just ballpark.

I measured the neck profile last night and it's 15/16ths of an inch. I think that's probably more like a jazz, but I've really only played this ritter and my first bass, an alembic epic.

It's wicked fast, if you're interested in it, I'd definitely recommend reading some of the ritter owner's forums on here to get a sense of how easy it is to play. I couldn't tap at all with my epic, and with the ritter I hardly have to press on the string.

As for the weight, I'm going to stand on a scale with and without it tonight and let you know. I would call it heavy. But it's also balanced. Because the arm is so long, and there are two pegs on the bottom you can get a comfortable position despite the weight.

I was once told a bass that I was buying was 11 pounds. When I pulled it out of the box I though that I was sent the wrong bass. I weighed it and it just barely cleared 9 pounds. :hyper:

I shouldn't buy this... two Ritter's in piano black would be obscene. Not to mention my wife would kill me... Then again have two Ritter's would be so uber cool.

Thanks Toby, I still need to take it somewhere with a scale and get Mark an exact number, but 10 sounds right.

Unfortunately I can't do trades because I've switched to classical guitar and I need the money. Two Ritters would be pretty outrageous though. What model do you have now?

I have a Roya 5... If I do this I may have to sell two, otherwise I'd have one angry spouse, of course she is in NYC for a weekend trip with her BFF

My first bass was an Alembic Epic, but my parents got it for me because my cousin is Edgar Meyer, so there was a little bit of pressure attached.

You didn't mention it but it looks like the fingerboard is macassar ebony. I assume that the body is ash. You didn't mention whether it comes with a case/gig bag.

I wish that I was in a position to take this off of your hands. It is simply beautiful.
