Great Experience

This is my first purchase on TalkBass, and I really didn't know where to begin. I have Ebayed and Reverbed previously. I like the fact that you get to initiate a conversation between buyer/seller that serves to create a sense of the person with whom you are dealing and to reduce misunderstandings about what is expected. Ebay, especially, fosters scams by those who have learned ways to misrepresent what they are selling. Big kudos for TalkBass for those reasons.
I purchased some gold Schaller M4 2+2 tuners. I had to replace the terrible factory tuners on a used Peavey Grind 6 bass that were partially defective when delivered to me. The Peavey is a 6 string, so I found 2 more tuners to complete the tuner replacement. These Schallers are not easy to find used and I simply couldn't afford to buy new.
The tuners arrived really fast, and packaged as well as I have ever seen.
The tuners were essentially new, in my estimation, and when I installed them, The bass was not the same bass. The Schallers were definitely the correct choice. The Peavey tuners are poor copies of the Schaller in approximate look only. They felt gritty while tuning and two of them failed and stripped the gear from the post when I first put strings on it. I cannot have that happen during a performance.
I feel assured by the Schaller quality so evident in comparison to the OE tuners and from my experience on my other instruments.
I am now looking for a deal on a gold Schaller bridge to match!

Recently purchased a strap from Gravesbass. There was a problem with my PP payment were it took longer than usual to receive the payment. Gravesbass waited for payment to clear which took a week.
