Howdy TB and happy holidays. I know I'm going to regret this, since this is a rare bird indeed, and it truly sings acoustic goodness. Alas, I only use a fretless for bluegrass and slightly prefer the thump of the regular Mouse for that and don't play other styles of music that would benefit from all the harmonics, mids and texture this Deep Mouse provides.

This was made as a "custom" bass for me, when I asked Rob if he would be willing to make a Deep Mouse after seeing one that a fellow TBer has that got me all excited. I contacted Rob, who was no longer making custom guitars, and turns out he had a Deep Mouse body he could use, so I got to choose the woods and features, and then he took as many of my preferences as he could while ensuring he could sell the bass to someone else in case I ended up not wanting it. He was a pleasure to deal with, by the way. The build was finished in late 2018 and I got my hands on it in mid Jan 2019. This may be the last Deep Mouse he makes, but hard to say for sure. It's super lightweight with a great neck and Rob was stoked about its acoustic tone and said it was among some of the best basses he's made by that metric.

I've probably played it a dozen or so times, mostly at home by myself or at a bluegrass jam (the last time, unfortunately, the mando player bonked his mando against the headstock, leaving a very small mark (see photo)). Only been out of the house once or twice to play at a friend's. Other than the headstock, I can't find a mark on it (except maybe the head of the preamp screw). Looks better in person, of course, where some parts of the bass just pop out when hit with light at the right angle.

Premium Walnut top with f-hole
Alder body
Walnut neck
Lined ebony fretboard with extension thumbrest
Stock M-30 electronics (not Deep 4 electronics with tone controls)
30" scale (same as regular Mouse)

Comes with custom ProTec carry bag.

Given its rarity and condition, it can be yours for $3200 shipped insured CONUS only. Act now before I come to my senses.

Sorry, not interested in any trades.

Thanks for looking, DM

More pics to show off the front and grain/range of color in the ebony fretboard (the orange is a nice complement to the top).

Yes, it's a Mouse with an extra deep body (maybe an extra inch give or take). It's equivalent to a Deep 4 versus a Mb-2 (without the Deep electronics). The extra body adds a lot of sweet harmonics and makes the bass sound more acoustic-y.

Sorry, no clips yet. My other Mouse sold, so keeping this one. Yes, life can be rough. :smug:

Howdy TB. Again, putting this one of a kind Mouse out there again. Won't be sad if it doesn't sell, but it's just too nice of a bass to keep sitting around doing little to nothing (which has been the case since I first posted it here). Still in the same great condition.

Only trade interest would be for a Rob Allen solid 4 or a Rob Allen fretted Mouse.

$3200 plus half of actual shipping if east of St. Louis, MO. Anyone outside of US would be looking at actual shipping and any customs stuff, including duty and taxes, except folks in Canada, and should please pm me if interested.

Thanks for looking, DM.

Damn. The one bass I really regret selling was my Mouse 30 lined fretless.

Thank goodness. I couldn’t afford it nor do I do many jazz gigs anymore.

The bass is sold pending full payment, which is why it's not marked sold yet. I will keep track of folks who are interested, in the order received, in case the deal falls through if you'd like to send me a pm. Thanks, DM
