Details

This is one of the nicest basses I've ever owned. Just when I thought I found a keeper, another dream bass came on my radar. So she's up for grabs. Here's the specs:

- Century body shape, which is the larger, more normal sized body compared to the LG and SKB
- ONE-PIECE Buckeye Burl Boxelder Burl top!
- Matching headstock
- Ash laminate body
- Maple & Purpleheart neck 35" scale
- Wenge fingerboard
- Roscoe 12th fret inlay
- Bartolini 76P4532K & 76P4532C quad coil humbucker pickups
- Bart 3-band 18V pre
- Matching wood knobs made from body cut offs
- Hipshot Ultralight tuners
- Roscoe OHSC in great condition

Great condition with the following flaws:
- Edge of headstock on bass side like where it would rest on a hanger
- Small indentation on tip of headstock
- 3/8" clear coat crack on treble side of neck pocket
- Several small indentations along bottom edge of body
- Several small indentations along top edge of body
- Wear on pickups
- Some wear on black finish of tuners
- 2 very small indentations on bass side of neck at 2nd fret (these ones are on me!)
This is a thorough analysis of the flaws on this instrument. You should know exactly what you're getting on an instrument of this caliber. These flaws should be visible in the pics in the second post of this thread.

Price includes shipping in the lower 48 States. I will gladly ship internationally at additional cost. PayPal accepted.

Beautiful Roscoe!
Great basses!
Are you sure that the top isn't Box Elder burl?

I agree, it's unusual for Buckeye to lack some green-ish hues, but Buckeye and burls in general are all different in color and figuring. And... the copy of the sales sheet from Roscoe for this bass states Buckeye Burl. (I doubted it myself until I saw the sales sheet!)

Regardless, finding a piece of any decently burled wood big enough for a one-piece top is incredible!

So I was kindly provided some information that the top on this is indeed exhibition grade Boxelder Burl. I was forced to believe what was shown on the Roscoe sales/spec sheet even though it just didn't look like Buckeye. But the below link from Roscoe's FB page in 2015 claims Boxelder Burl which now makes much more sense.

I will restate that a single-piece burled top with minimal voids is a rare thing of beauty regardless of species!

I'm getting 9.0lbs on bathroom scale: me holding bass - me without bass.

Thanks

IMO the fact that the top is Box Elder burl is a good thing. Box Elder has a tone similar to maple while buckeye burl has virtually no tone.
Classy looking bass. Wish I had the cash laying around!
