This has never happened to me before, but the electric upright sustained some damage in shipping. Thankfully, the bass is repairable and will be a completely functional instrument in a few weeks.

I just want to point out that although the shipping company had not yet taken responsibility for the damage and the outcome of the claim is unknown, the seller agreed to return a repair fee in advance of the shipper's settlement. He didn't have to do this, and I'm thankful for such an upstanding person.
