i'm tempted to ask you for a comparision between them ....

And I'm tempted to compare them! Short answer: both are great but different. Lull is 35" scale, a bit lighter, 18mm (but slightly adjustable) string spacing. It feels as though the neck is less "flat" (in terms of radius) but can't confirm (though I think Mike uses compound-radius necks). (Sorry for all the parenthetical information... ) The Sadowsky is 34" scale, 19mm, an a bigger neck, at least at the 12th fret or so. The Lull has the Bart preamp and the Sadowsky, of course, has Roger's design. The Sadowsky, as others have noted, has it's own, somewhat modern sound, whereas the Lull sounds and feels a bit more traditional (if an active bass can be called that). And both have excellent B strings--Roger seems to have figured out how to do that with the 34" scale.

Both are nicely balanced and play great. They are on the block because I couldn't resist that Sadowsky NYC (maple board, quilt top) that weighs about 7 1/2 pounds... In general, I prefer rosewood/sunburst/alder--as if you couldn't tell from the pics! Ideally, I'd like to find a light NYC in that wood/color combination someday.
