Recently I’ve started flirting with the idea of moving my Serek Armitage along. I bought it here about a year ago after wanting a Darkstar/BiSonic bass for a long time. This one has two! I have no doubt that this is someone’s dream bass, but it hasn’t quite asserted itself into my rotation so I thought I’d see what else might be out there.
Sereks have a great reputation for a reason, and this is the most flawlessly crafted bass I’ve owned. A previous owner sent it to Jake Serek to have the second pickup installed. Is this the only two-pickup Armitage out there? I don’t know, but it definitely makes this one even more versatile. It also came with three pickguard/headstock covers : I like tortoise the best, but pearloid and black are great options too. Here’s the ad from when I bought it with more pics of the different combos.
Currently strung with La Bella 760FS flatwounds. My luggage scale puts it at 8.4 lbs. I’d say the neck (34” scale btw) is a comfy oval that fits somewhere between a traditional P and J. Overall it’s in excellent condition with a couple of minor dings I’ve tried to highlight in the pics.
Price is $2600 shipped/PP in the US with the super nice Serek soft case.
As far as trades go, I’m generally into vintagey 4 strings. Think Fender/FCS, Creston, other Sereks (any scale length), maybe a Rickenbacker? I’m kind of picky, but I’m nice so shoot your shot. Cash going either way as appropriate is cool. I also play guitar if you have acoustic or electric trades along the same lines, but don’t really need any amps or cabs.
It truly is a great bass and maybe I just need a bit more time to fully bond with it. As such, I reserve the right to come to my senses and pull this ad
. Like most of us I just have a wandering eye and curiosity has started working its claws into me. And no, the haunted painting is not for sale.
