My journey for jazz tonal nirvana is over. I've tried many many sets over the last 6 months, these are all fantastic sets but I ended up going with Fralin singles. So here's what I got:
Aguilar 70s set. Like new, in box. These are the closest thing to my 1972 jazz I've ever heard. Very articulate, I liked these way more than Nordstrand's 70s wind.

Lollar jazz set. 60s tone on steroids. Similar to Fender Custom Shop with a little more of everything. More warmth than grind, fills up the room.

Fender Custom Shop jazz set. Very even set, huge improvement over stock, pre-2008 USA jazz pickups. Nothing too hyped, just great jazz tone. Sound fantastic in a rock setting.

Fralin splitcoil jazz set. Phenomenal pickups, very close to their single coil set. Cloth wire with the signature Fralin steel plate on the backs. SUPER high quality, I can see why these go for $280 new. Ship in original box.
