Up for sale/trade is my Shen SB80 3/4 plywood bass. I am the second owner. I believe the bass was originally imported through CSC Products in Rochester. I purchased it from the original owner in Rochester about 6 years ago. All work on the bass has been done by a single luthier in my neck of the woods since I've owned it.
The bass is in fine playing condition and has been well cared for. It does show some typical dings from 4 years worth of gigging. There is what I would call a blemish on the left side/upper bout near the neck. I will take a picture of it later and upload. To my knowledge it is a blemish and not a repair. The bridge is adjustable.
The strings are a mixed set of steels. I am not sure of the make. They came with it, and I changed them shortly there after. I play guts, but removed them from the Shen as a backup set for my new bass. Hence the original steel strings are back on. Regardless of the strings, this bass is loud. It is noticeably louder than my Upton.
I don't have a bag to include. I do have a Hurley Virtuoso double bridge wing pickup I can include.
I am willing to drive a couple of hours to meet someone who is interested. I'm near Buffalo, NY for reference. WILL NOT SHIP.
Trades: I would be looking for an EA Micro or Doubler, or possibly some other high end micro friendly to upright. I need something with a little more fire power than my AI Contra for outdoor gigs.
